The KBE is a 90-minute experiential activity that aims to foster an understanding of the shared history and nation-to-nation relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. There are also facilitated sharing circles that take place after the exercise, the length is determined by the group itself. Debriefing is very important, and our KBE teams will have an Elder and/or knowledge keeper on site for each sharing circle.
Client’s responsibilities are booking the venue, tobacco offerings for Elders, snacks and drinks, and sound equipment.
NCPEI’s responsibilities are supplying the KBE team, bringing all teaching materials and supplies, providing the Elder to lead the talking circle, and sound equipment.
Please note that once you have confirmed a KBE workshop it means a time has been reserved in our calendar and facilitators or presenters have been reserved for your workshop.
For all KBE workshops, KAIROS will attempt to accommodate requests to reschedule if they are made more than 14 days prior to the confirmed date, however a service charge of 20% of the quoted fee will be charged.
Please find below additional information specific to each KBE workshop.
If you cancel your session less than 14 days before the confirmed date a fee of $500 will be charged. If you cancel your session less than 7 days before the confirmed date a fee of $1,000 will be charged.
