Section 1: Category of Membership Applying For
Full-Voting Membership:
Full-voting membership shall be open to any adult over 16 years of age who is of Aboriginal ancestry, self-identifies as being of Aboriginal ancestry with acceptance in the Aboriginal community, is a permanent resident of Prince Edward Island who does not reside on an Indian Reserve (within the meaning of the “Indian Act” of Canada), and who has proven their Aboriginal ancestry to the Board and fulfilled each other criteria as may be approved by the Board of Directors.

Youth Membership:
Youth Membership: Youth membership shall be open to any minor between the ages of 10 and 15 who meets all other requirements identified above for full-voting membership. This membership may be applied for by the parent or legal guardian of any minor. Youth members may apply for full-voting membership once they turn 16; they are not automatically full-voting members. Full-voting members under the age of 29 will also be treated as youth members for the purposes of electing a Youth Board of Director.

A separate application is needed for each full-voting member. Any eligible dependants of a full-voting applicant shall be granted youth membership automatically without needing separate applications. Applications may take up to six months for a decision. Applicants who are rejected or asked for additional evidence must submit a new application.
