En Fil Girls Club
The NCPEI En Fil Girls Club provides a safe space where Indigenous youth living off-reserve on PEI can increase self-protection skills and knowledge regarding sexual abuse or prevention concepts, disclosure, and help-seeking behaviours. Participants can gather and engage in cultural activities, developing a capacity for dialogue and education about sexual exploitation.
The program also provides a possible avenue for participants seeking help regarding sexual exploitation.
The program offers regular workshops across the province, delivered in keeping with culturally appropriate and relevant practices. Activities incorporate teachings from traditional Elders and Knowledge Keepers, as well as specialists from community partner organizations and government entities that work in the area of child sexual exploitation and violence.
